Father's Day is just around the corner. What better way to show that we appreciate our dads than a hearty and sumptuous breakfast set. Not a good cook? Unsure of what to prepare? Here are five fool proof recipes we have tried that will surely delight your dad.
Cream Cheese Bagel with Smoked Salmon
While this looks incredibly fancy, cream cheese bagel and smoked salmon is the easiest breakfast to prepare. Not kidding, we tried this recipe and it's quick, fuss free, and you can prepare this under 10 minutes. You can pick up the bagel, cream cheese and smoked salmon at most grocery stores. Smoked salmon are pre-sliced and ready to eat. Simply slice the bagel, toast it, and place the smoked salmon straight from the packaging onto your bagel. To enhance the taste, season the bagel with a dash of black pepper.
Avocado Toast
Dad's an avocado fan? Then, there’s nothing better than a perfectly ripe, creamy avocado for breakfast. We tried one of the four recipe and can't wait to try the other three. For extra flavouring, drizzle sufficient virgin olive oil and a squeeze of lemon or lime to give it an extra oomph. To test whether or not an avocado is ready, check it’s colour, and give a gentle squeeze, without applying too much pressure. If the avocado slightly yields to the pressure, it is ripe to eat. If it is still rock hard, the avocado is not ripe yet and it is best that you wait a few days. Remember to sprinkle some salt on the avocado. Salt works wonders in bringing out the natural flavours of the avocado.
Bacon and Eggs
If your dad loves the classic bacon and eggs, you can't go wrong with Bacon Eggs Cups. We tried this recipe and it's a keeper. Bacon, eggs, shredded cheese, salt and pepper are the only ingredients needed to complete this hearty and wonderful breakfast. Prepare the ingredients on a muffin tray or ramekins and pop them into the oven. Have a dad with a sweet tooth? Opt for maple bacon with honey instead of regular bacon. This adds a little maple smokiness and a touch of sweetness.
Homemade Granola
Have a dad is who is trying to stay fit and is conscious about what he eats? We are amazed by how nutritious a bowl of granola can be. This wholesome bowl of granola packs a punch and will ensure that your dad does not compromise on his planned diet. You would need to prepare the granola a day in advance. Rolled oats, nuts, honey, dried fruits and olive oil or coconut oil are the main ingredients. The best thing about homemade granola is the amount and variety of nuts and seeds we can add into our granola. Our must have nuts and seeds are pecan and pumpkin seeds. Add vanilla and some spice to enhance the taste of the granola. You could also consider to make extras for breakfast the following day. Store them in an airtight container to keep your granola crunchy!
Pancakes
Do you have young children at home and want to involve them in the breakfast making process? Choose to make white fluffy pancakes together as a family. We tried this recipe and it's perfect for families. This recipe has no complicated steps and you probably have these ingredients in your kitchen - large eggs, milk and self raising flour. There is no need to sift the flour and end up with a cloud of flour dust flying all over your bench tops. All you need is just one mixing bowl and one spoon. It takes just two minutes to mix all three ingredients together. Heat up your pancake griddle and fill small plastic squeeze bottles with the pancake batter. Children are going to love it because they can write and draw with the small squeeze bottles. Serve the pancakes with yoghurt, maple syrup, berries, or any other toppings that your dad loves!
